EPICUREAN FOOD HALL

On the corner of Liffey Street and Middle Abbey Street, The Epicurean Food Hall is a buzzy place bringing together a collection of small units/dublin restaurants with a common seating area where you will find a wide range of gourmet foods, cooked and uncooked - and the wines to go with them.

The hall is open during the day every day (opens later on Sunday, remains open for late shoppers on Thursday evening); it's an enjoyable place to browse - there are lots of lovely little shops and cafés in the hall, including a good choice of ethnic ones, and they quite often change so these long-established tenants are just a taster: La Corte (01 873 4200) is one of the north river outposts of Stefano Crescenzi and David Izzo's smart Italian café.

And, at Layden Fine Wines, you can buy a glass of good wine to accompany anything you're eating from one of the other shops/stalls - available by the glass or bottle a(modest corkage charge to consume on the premises, glasses supplied.)
