Franzini O'Briens

Modern and spacious, this smart and very popular restaurant beside Trim Castle has well-trained staff who greet and seat arriving guests promptly and - by ensuring that everyone settles in comfortably from the start - setting a tone of relaxed efficiency that makes for an enjoyable outing.

Space is attractively broken up around a central carpeted square with leather sofas to provide a variety of seating areas and simple, uncluttered table settings are modern and elegantly functional - tall water carafes, finger bowls for nachos and paper napkins.

Light-hearted menus offer an excellent range of choices in the international style and, together with an informal, buzzy atmosphere, indicate that this is a place for a good night out.

Service is excellent, even at very busy times. Interesting wine list (supplied by Jim Nicholson).
