Laragh House

John and Helen Cooney’s modern two-storey white plastered guesthouse was only built in 2005, but is now well-established as one of the most popular in the area as it is within walking distance of Kilkenny city centre in fine weather (15 minutes), has off-street parking and, with all the modern amenities, offers a very reasonably priced alternative to an hotel.


The eight bedrooms are individually styled, with multi channel TV, direct dial telephone and internet access, and all have whirlpool bath or power showers.


There’s also a comfortably furnished lounge for guests to relax in, and a smoking area is provided.

Rooms 8 (all en-suite & no smoking, 5 shower only, 2 ground floor, 2 disabled); B&B €35 pps; single €50. Children welcome (under 10s free in parents' room, cots available free of charge; baby sitting arranged); free broadband wi/fi. Limited room service. Closed 24-26 Dec. No Credit Cards. abbreviations
