Léon Bistro
Having successfully recreated a corner of Paris in Dublin with their sophisticated brand of pastry cafés, Léon has now opened its first bistro with décor that's been cleverly devised to create a genuine Gallic ambiance.
Choose a table down the back amongst the mismatched chairs, large gilt mirror, showpiece chandelier and distressed panelling and you will soon believe you're somewhere in Montmartre. The menu enhances the illusion with its list of genuine French classics; perhaps a croque madam or omelette for lunch or maybe Toulouse sausage, beef bourguignon or duck confit for dinner.
There's a vast choice of authentic dishes and, although the cooking was a little uneven on the Guide's visit, service is relaxed and informal, making this a good spot to meet friends for a glass of wine and laid back meal.
And be sure to leave room for dessert: order a classic from the menu or choose from the dazzling pastry display up front, where individual tarts and pastries, all made in-house, ensure a meal here will always end on a high note.
Open 8am-11pm Mon-Sat; 10am-10pm Sun.
