Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

Linnalla Ice Cream

Using the milk from their shorthorn cows, which are native to the Burren, the name of Brid and Roger Fahy's ice cream is inspired by the farm's waterside location, Linn-alla' meaning 'swan lake'.

Using the milk from their shorthorn cows, which are native to the Burren, Brid and Roger Fahy started making ice cream in 2006 the name inspired by the farm's waterside location, Linn-alla' meaning 'swan lake'.

Made with fresh cream, and fruits and nuts sourced in the Burren, where possible, this eco-friendly business follows the seasons and the flavours change as different wild and garden produce becomes available through the year. They also make sorbets, and gorgeous ice cream cakes for special occasions - and even offer an unusual bespoke 'choose your own flavour combination' service!

Distributed throughout the West of Ireland, and you'll see Linnalla on menus too, perhaps in signature flavours such as Moher Mist (with whiskey & schnapps), served at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre.

The farm is well signed from the coast road, although it may seem a long way; little shop and ice cream parlour.
