Lord Kenmare's Restaurant
This cosy first floor Killarney restaurants got elegant black furniture, polished floors, bare tables and blinds - a lot of hard surfaces all add up to a good bit of noise, but nobody seems to mind.
Barbary duck breast is their stated speciality, served, perhaps, with pineapple, orange & salsa, but this does not do the restaurant justice as menus offer many more appealing dishes - tender whiskey & Calvados braised pork belly, for example, outstanding steaks and a beautifully presented hot seafood platter, a selection that may include prawns (probably of the tiger variety, alas) fresh salmon, monkfish, scallops, crisp fried calamari, mussels & grilled oysters.
Good food, together with great service and value ensure that this cheerful place is always packed - even on weekdays, when other restaurants may not be busy, there’s lots of buzz, so reservations are strongly advised.
