The Old Jameson Distillery

While most visitors to Dublin will visit the restored Old Jameson Distillery to do the tour (which is fascinating, see below), it's also a good spot for a bite to eat.

There are special menus for groups (including evening functions, when the Distillery is not otherwise open) but the Third Still Restaurant is also open to individuals - light food served all day and lunch, featuring Irish specialities like John Jameson beef casserole, roast loin of pork with apple & Jameson sauce, and Jameson farmhouse whiskey cake - and the standard of cooking is generally high.

Downstairs, in the reception the new JJ's Bar opens from midday, where mixologists create the finest Jameson Cocktails.

Shindig Nights in the "Sine Metu Suite" at the Old Jameson Distillery from April - October run on Thursday , Friday and Saturday evenings from 7.30 - 11.30 .

Package includes, Tour, Tasting and Entertainment from the famous Jameson Players together with a 4 Course meal and Irish Coffee.

* Tour - Re-live the story of John Jameson & Son through the history, the atmosphere and above all the taste. Discover the time honoured secret of how three simple ingredients - water, barley & yeast - are transformed into smooth golden spirit that has always been and continues to be Jameson Irish Whiskey.

After the tour, all visitors are rewarded with a Jameson signature drink and lucky volunteers are selected to participate in a tutored whiskey comparison and earn a much coveted personalised Whiskey Taster Certificate. The Exclusive Jameson Gift Shop stocks a wide range of gift ideas including a full portfolio of Jameson Irish Whiskeys.

Distillery opening times - All year: daily, 9.30am to 6pm (last tour at 5.30pm) Entrance fees - Adult €13, Children under 18 years €7.70, Family (2 adults, 3 children) €29, Student & OAPs €9.60 and group rate for 15+ people is €9.60 per person.
