Panis Angelicus
New Street is just the place for this stylish contemporary café and bread shop - the tempting display of freshly baked breads, scones and gateaux will draw you in and then you'll be hooked by the aroma of freshly brewed Italian coffee - which is served with home-made biscuits or Belgian chocolates. No matter what time you drop in there will be plenty to tempt, even if it's just home-made soup with a gourmet sandwich (home-baked Limerick ham with wholegrain Irish mustard, perhaps) or a hot Irish potato cake with garlic butter, green salad and crusty bread. Outside of meal times you can just have that cup of tea or coffee - and maybe take some goodies home for later. Dinner menus are more ambitious and offer a wide choice while retaining a fresh, youthful approach. Unusually, Panis Angelicus not only offers interesting vegetarian food but also specialises in gluten free breads, soups, sauces and desserts.
