Café Renoir

Husband and wife team Lindsay and Karen Loney’s Café Renoir has a great local following, especially among young professionals, for wholesome homemade food, both in this stylishly informal premises and in the original Queen Street daytime café in the city’s main shopping area, which has been in business since 1991.

Here on Botanic Avenue, European bistro is the stated style and they’ve earned respect for their support of local and organic produce as well as for delicious cooking with real home flavour.

Open throughout the day with varying offerings, the café begins early with a breakfast menu and is open right through until late at night.

Home baking is a speciality and their cakes, tray bakes and scones are popular for in-between times; lunchtime is busy and the menu includes a wide selection of vegetarian dishes, then at night it takes on a bistro atmosphere and menu.

Beside it, the pizzeria (with wood fired pizza oven) offers keenly priced informal evening meals.

Also at: 5-7 Queen Street, Belfast (+44 28 9032 5592).
