Good Food Ireland members Caroline and Joe Rigney offer a traditional farm experience for guests visiting their west Limerick farm, and also have a Farm Shop, where their rare breeds pork products, Curraghchase Meats, are the star of the show.
Made from the meat of free range rare breed pigs such as Tamworth and Saddlebacks, their products - notably dry cured bacon and ham, and homemade sausages, puddings and burgers - are truly outstanding, and have rightly won numerous awards.
It's definitely worth factoring in a visit here to buy them if you're in the area, and you'll also find other tempting artisan products in the shop.
Look out for the Curraghchase name on menus too, some of the chefs in the region (and, increasingly, further afield too) are proud to showcase these excellent products. You won't find a better rasher anywhere.
