Child and pet-friendly, with clean simple accommodation including two family rooms, this is not a smart or fashionable place to stay (some parts of the hotel were in need of refurbishment at the time of the Guide's last visit) but there is a great sense of hospitality, the rooms are gradually being upgraded and the overall feeling is one of traditional old-fashioned comfort.
And you will eat well too: generous, wholesome food based on local ingredients (seafood from nearby Carrigholt, Burren lamb) is served in the both the bars and restaurant - this warm and friendly hotel is just the place for a relaxed family holiday.
