Zucchini Restaurant
This first floor restaurant is spacious, comfortable and attractively designed, and hung with paintings by local artists. It's a friendly, buzzy restaurant that is popular with the locals and is a pleasant place to dine.
The menu offers the standard international dishes so familiar in Ireland today, featuring local seafood, local beef and lamb, etc, and also vegetarian options, but what makes it different is that owner-chef Colm Chawke takes pride in showcasing local produce and he is a good chef, so the quality ingredients he seeks our are treated with respect and have real flavour.
Pricing is fair and the early dinner menu offers good value. Staff are charming, although service can be slow and lacking in professional expertise.
In addition to a fairly short but well chosen and fairly priced wine menu, a full bar and beer menu is also available and there is a pleasant, spacious lounge area dedicated for aperitifs and after dinner drinks.
Seats 80. Children welcome before 8pm (high chair, children's menu); air conditioning. D daily, 5-9.30pm. Early D around €25, 5-7pm, also à la carte; house wine from €19.50. Closed 3 days Christmas. MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
