Win a Short Break for two at The Lansdowne Kenmare

 The Landsdowne Kenmare

To celebrate the elevation of their much-loved hotel The Lansdowne Kenmare to 4 Star status by Fáilte Ireland, hoteliers Francis and John Brennan are offering one lucky winner the opportunity to enjoy a short break for two at this historic destination.

One of Kenmare's oldest buildings, The Lansdowne Kenmare was built in 1790 as the residence of William Petty Fitzmaurice, 2nd Earl of Shelburne, and it's been at the heart of the town's activities ever since. Formerly known as The Lansdowne Arms, it was acquired in 2020 by the Brennan brothers of Park Hotel Kenmare, just across the road, and reopened after extensive renovations in July 2021.

The restoration has been, and is, a labour of love for Francis and John Brennan and, with Kasia Riebandt - an old hand at the Park - as General Manager, there's a real sense of pride in this revitalised hotel with its smart fresh look and traditional values.

Along with its twenty-eight charming bedrooms (where comfy beds are dressed with linen from Francis Brennan's range for Dunnes Stores), The Lansdowne Kenmare offers The LK Café, The Dining Bar Terrace and the latest addition, The Piano Lounge with its cocktail menu and live music at weekends.

The ethos of The Lansdowne is very much a warm, welcoming town hotel making the best of everything local. Breakfast is served in an attractive long dining bar and, with a lovely big terrace off the far end, it makes a pleasing bistro-style destination later in the day, when an X Oven brings a casual charcoal flavour to the menu.

Francis and John wanted "the guest experience to be casual and the property restored to the landmark it and Kenmare deserve". They have achieved this beautifully - and The Lansdowne Kenmare is also sure to fulfill their ambition for it “to bring additional visitors to the special place we live, Kenmare."

The lucky winner of this free competition will have a short break for two people sharing (subject to availability), to include:
•   A 2-night stay in a double or twin en-suite room
•   Dinner for two in The Dining Bar on the evening of choice
•   Cocktails in the new Piano Lounge
•   Full Irish breakfast cooked to order each morning
