Situated on 6 acres of lovely gardens in the heart of Killarney town centre and a landmark in hospitality since it was built in 1854, Great Southern Killarney is one of Ireland’s great historic hotels. A friendly and very sociable destination, there’s ‘grand and laid-back’ brasserie style dining in the beautifully redesigned Arbour restaurant and the hotel’s Traditional Afternoon Tea service is a classic treat, while the first port of call for many is Brownes Bar (named for Sir Valentine Augustus Browne, Earl of Kenmare, who provided the land the hotel is built on), which is a popular meeting place for a drink or casual dining.
