Hylands Burren Hotel

Open fires in public areas create the welcoming atmosphere for which this hotel is famous
Restaurant seats 70 (+16 outdoors; private room, 50). Food served 12pm-9pm daily. A la carte. Walking, fishing, cycling. Rooms 32 (all en-suite, 12 double, 18 triple, 2 family). Children welcome (Children's menu). B&B from about €72pps, ss about €40. Open all year. Visa, MasterCard, Irish debit cards accepted. abbreviations

Open fires in public areas create the welcoming atmosphere for which the Hylands Burren Hotel is famous - and now that it is owned by the Quinn family, who are local with many years in business in Ballyvaughan village, it has regained the personal touch that only hands-on family management can bring.

A modern bedroom wing at the back offers comfortable accommodation with good amenities (direct dial phone, tea/coffee tray, TV) and all of the bedrooms have been refurbished since the new owners took over in 2015.

Manager, David Quinn, is also responsible for the family's nearby Italian restaurant L'Arco (see entry), and serving good quality food is a point of pride, along with caring customer service.

Although menus are not specific regarding their main suppliers, Hylands Burren Hotel is a member of the “Burren Food Trail”, winners of both the European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) 2015 – Tourism and Local Gastronomy and Irish Restaurants Association Foodie Town 2015 title, and local food is what it's all about. You will find plenty of local seafood on the menu, along with Burren lamb and some well known producers including St Tola goats cheese and Burren Smoked Salmon, from Lisdoonvarna.
