Christy's Lounge & Bar

A family-friendly pub in the centre of Arklow, Christy’s offers good comforting food at reasonable prices. An outdoor terrace has plenty of covered space, with views of the Avoca River.
Seats 100. Food served Sun-Fri 10.30am-10pm, Sat 10.30am-9pm. Live music some nights. Public parking nearby up Main Street (same side). abbreviations

Behind a smartly painted two-toned grey frontage with a bright red door in the heart of Arklow town, you’ll find the equally smart bright room that is Christy’s lounge.

With comfortable banquettes around the walls separated into booths by high dividers, there’s a pleasant degree of privacy.

It's a cosy spot with a real fire and is popular with the local business community - while Main Street may turn its back on the river and harbour, the lunchtime talk here reflects Arklow's thriving maritime industry (shipping, offshore wind farms, ship repair and boat-building).

Food is comforting – popular starters include favourites such as chicken wings, seafood chowder and garlic Mozzarella bread.

There’s a wide choice of mains – roast of the day, pasta carbonara, Angus steak sandwich, chicken fajitas, lasagne - and all the usual beers and wines are available.

Desserts include plenty of crowd pleasers - sticky toffee ginger pudding, lemon and key lime cheesecake - and an especially hard-to-resist flour free Belgian chocolate brownie.

Friendly staff and relaible food mke this a  good place to know about.
