Behind the traditional stone facade of an old mill on Westport harbour, this bright modern hotel has spacious public areas combining traditional and contemporary themes and materials.

On the ground floor, the Coast Bar Bar offers informal meals from lunchtine onwards; while mainly seafood themed, menus have something for everyone.

Fair-sized bedrooms have good facilities and, although it may seem like an impersonal city hotel in some ways, staff (including those in the excellent leisure centre, and spa) are exceptionally friendly and efficient.

Waterfront Restaurant

The restaurant is situated right up at the top of the building, which is a good idea, although the view is restricted by sloping roof windows and the room can be very warm in summer.

But the hotel has always taken pride in its food and interesting, well-balanced contemporary menus offer a good choice of imaginative dishes, with a natural leaning towards seafood.

Cooking is reliable and, as elsewhere in the hotel, friendly and helpful service adds to the occasion.

Breakfast is also served here.

Seats 90. D daily, 6pm-9pm. SC discretionary. Children welcome; reservations required; air conditioning. Lift. Toilets wheelchair accessible. Informal bar menu also offered, 12.30-9 daily.
