2006 Award Winners ATMOSPHERIC RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR 2006
Toddies Restaurant
Pearse and Mary O’Sullivan are a talented and dedicated husband and wife team, who recently moved from their quietly discreet restaurant nearby to a bustling down town restaurant and bar above a micro brewery in what was once known as - and may soon merit the title once more - the Gourmet Capital of Ireland. Entering under a stone archway and courtyard, exterior stairs lead up to the restaurant, pausing at a large and stylish al fresco dining area provided by two terraces, before arrival at the bar and a smart split-level dining room. There’s excitement in the air - and a growing fan club who love not only the fine modern Irish cooking (seafood is, of course, the star), but also the inside-or-out table arrangements, great service by a bubbly staff, and the whole atmosphere of the place. Small wonder that this unusual restaurant is always a-buzz with activity - and has been a huge success from the day it opened.
