Win a Short Break for Two at Butler House

The Mustard Seed Set on seven acres of lovely gardens, with mature trees, shrubberies, kitchen garden and orchard - and quirkily luxurious accommodation - The Mustard Seed makes a magical getaway.

Famous firstly as a restaurant in the picture postcard village of Adare, where it was established by the original owner Dan Mullane, in 1985, The Mustard Seed later moved just ten minutes drive away to this fine Victorian residence in the West Limerick countryside - where it is now in the very safe hands of the former manager John Edward Joyce, who is our Host of the Year 2019.

Begin your stay on a high with a welcoming cup of tea and some buttery homemade shortbread on arrival, before settling into your stylishly decorated room. And then, perhaps, take a stroll around the gardens - where, depending on the season, you may be able to work out what could be on the menu…

And dinner, on the evening of your choice, is sure to be a treat as head chef Angel Pirev is one of the country’s best. It’s all about the ingredients in his kitchen, where delicious dishes are prepared to order using seasonal produce from the Mustard Seed extensive kitchen gardens and other leading Irish producers.

Breakfast is also an occasion at the Mustard Seed, which was among the winners in our 2017 Irish Breakfast Awards, so make sure you allow time to relax and enjoy the morning feast.

And afterwards there’s no shortage of things to do in the area. To take just a few examples, walkers will enjoy John Edward’s favourite walk up nearby Knockfierna, “the Hill of Truth,” where the climb is rewarded with breath taking views across Co Limerick and beyond. Then the charming village of Adare is nearby and a must-visit, of course - and also Foynes, which is famous for its excellent flying boat museum, which makes a fascinating and very rewarding outing…

The lucky winner of this free competition will have a short break for two people sharing (subject to availability), to include:

•   Tea & shortbread on arrival
•   2 nights midweek accommodation
