Win a break in The Station House Hotel
The Slattery family's unique establishment is an old railway junction, which was closed in 1963, and all the various buildings were converted to a make an hotel of charm and character which first opened its doors to the public as a guesthouse and restaurant in 1983. It is an interesting and unusual place to visit, with lovely gardens, and makes a good base for business, or for exploring this fascinating county. It has twenty bedrooms and also makes a pretty wedding venue.
The Signal Restaurant: The chintzy decor, piped Irish music and traditional fare haven't really dated and somehow it all works well, creating a relaxing place with a very warm feeling. The restaurant attracts diners from a wide area - their traditional Sunday lunch is especially renowned. The food is enjoyable in a no nonsense way that is becoming all too rare, portions are generous and it is very family-friendly.
Overall The Station House Hotel is a really pleasant little place.
