Andersons Creperie

In the heart of Drumcondra you’ll find this homely and cosy restaurant, a little piece of France tucked off the busy main road (and with great parking outside).

As the younger sibling of Andersons Food Hall & Café, this retro-styled café serves up an appetising selection of gourmet crêpes with sweet and savoury fillings, as well as the kind of tasty deli fare we’ve come to expect from its successful big brother in Glasnevin.

Creative salads, homemade soups and interesting sandwiches all boast the freshest ingredients, with plenty of Gallic offerings like a French cheese platter with assorted breads, Croque Monsieurs and Madames and delicacies like Bayonne ham and farmhouse pate.

But it’s the crêpes that are the stars here: galettes (buckwheat pancakes) filled with savoury treats like smoked salmon, prawns and rocket with crème fraîche or perhaps an all-day breakfast with Emmenthal and Hicks sausages.

Sweet crêpes come laced with favourites like lemon and sugar, or more daring offerings like roasted peaches with mascarpone. The counter is crammed with tempting looking gateaux too, making it hard to settle for just one course.

With friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, decent facilities for young children  (including special menu choices) and parking right outside the door it’s a great neighbourhood haunt for brunch, lunch or coffee.

A choice of wine, champagne and Breton cider mean it’s a pleasant choice for an early evening meal too.

Seats 45. Open daily, 9am-7pm (to 8pm Fri; from 10am Sun). House wine from €18. No reservations accepted; children welcome (high chair, childrens menu, baby changing facilities); wheelchair accessible (toilets & public areas); free broadband wi/fi. Closed 24 Dec - 2 Jan, Good Fri, Easter Sun. MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
