Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa

This impressive hotel in Ballyliffin village is a great asset to the area - with a beautiful view, space and comfort. Public areas include a traditional bar, Mamie Pat's, and the spacious guest rooms are finished to a high standard with many extras.

General Manager Cecil Doherty, who is also a joint-proprietor of the hotel, has considered every detail including excellent on-site leisure facilities, with swimming pool and spa treatments.

Discounts are available for hotel guests at Ballyliffin GC, and short breaks are offered. The hotel also accepts wedding parties (remember the Donegal catch-phrase is 'up here it's different').

Holly Tree Restaurant:

There is a classic and intimate feel to this rather small exclusive room: head chef Kwanghi Chan is well known in Ireland for his accomplished modern European cuisine; he and his team produce classic dishes, sometimes with an Asian twist - and people travel specially to eat here.

You can choose between the set dinner, and an á la carte; which includes some unusual appetisers and a speciality of fresh whole fish; desserts are also very good, notably a gorgeous steamed lemon pudding.

A well thought out wine list includes plenty of half bottles, and service is excellent.
