Brookhaven House
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Waterville Championship Golf Course, Mary Clifford's family-run custom-built guesthouse lays the emphasis on comfort and personal service and, although it may seem a little stark from the road, it is set in an attractive garden, which is peaceful and colourful and, when we visited in 2007, work was under way to develop a little river that runs along the length of the garden, to make a feature of it.
The spacious en-suite bedrooms are very comfortable and have all the necessary amenities; twin, double and triple rooms are all available, some with seating areas, all with direct dial phone, TV, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities and most with lovely views over the bay - so book a room with a view of the sea if possible.
And, as Mary is keen to point out, there's more to Waterville than golf - hill walking, watersports, angling and horse riding are all nearby.
Free Broadband wi/fi. Drying room. Children welcome (under 5s free in parents room, cot available at no charge). Rooms 6 (2 junior suites, 1 shower only, 1 family room, 1 ground floor, all no smoking); B&B €60 pps, ss €40. MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
