Built on the site of the old railway station this large modern hotel suits those who require a leisure centre and conference/banqueting facilities (200/150).


Public areas are impressively spacious and modern, while bedrooms are a good size, contemporary in style and comfortably furnished with ISDN lines as well as more usual amenities such as direct-dial phones, tea/coffee making and TV.


The old Station House has become a themed bar and restaurant, and the complex includes a railway museum and a range of upmarket shops and boutiques.


Attractive short, special interest (golf etc) and off-season breaks are offered, and the hotel has recently opened 18 new 2- and 3-bedroom self-catering suites in the courtyard (parking; use of all hotel facilities; open all year).
