The Cooperage Restaurant

This striking contemporary restaurant is conveniently located in a pedestrianised (if somewhat neglected) laneway between Main Street and the Glebe public carpark, and its smart frontage always gives a good impression. There's a welcoming lounge area, and the pleasing surroundings, together with gentle background jazz, create an atmospheric setting for a pleasant dining experience.

Clear, fairly priced menus based on quality ingredients offer plenty of choice, including game in season, and there's always a list of specials, including at least one imaginative vegetarian choice and several fish dishes; home-made desserts range from a wholesome fruit crumble to an indulgent chocolate cake.

Good service, although no sign of anyone in charge on the Guide's latest visit. With a lively atmosphere, stylish, flavoursome food, and a concise, well priced wine list, this popular restaurant offers good value; reservations are advised.
