East Coast Seafood

Specialising in fresh Dublin Bay Prawns and Irish smoked salmon, James Kirwan is a fishmonger who is passionate about the freshness and quality of the produce he sells.

A former fisherman who understands the business inside out, he offers a wide variety of fish and shellfish (plaice, cod, haddock, whiting, mackerel, mussels & clams) sourced mainly from the boats in Clogherhead, and you may also find sea vegetables (edible seaweeds) on offer in season.

James was the overall winner of BIM's inaugural Young Fishmonger of the Year Awards in 2013; he was selected from a shortlist of five finalists, all of whom exhibited a dynamic and innovative approach to seafood retailing, coupled with an outstanding knowledge of seafood.
