Fitzroys Restaurant

This large modern restaurant beside the Foyle Shopping Centre is on two floors and very handy for shoppers, visitors or pre- and post-theatre meals. Refurbishment has revamped the interior, but the central philosophy of providing good quality, reasonably priced food in enjoyably informal surroundings - and with quick service from the very friendly staff - remains unchanged.

Menus change through the day and offer a wide range of food in the current international fashion, ranging from soup of the day (a very good chowder, perhaps, full of a variety of smoked and unsmoked fish and shell fish, attractively presented with home made wheaten bread) and designer sandwiches (roast vegetables & goats cheese baguette), to house favourites like spicy chicken tagliatelle, or a 10 oz sirloin steak.

A conveniently located, family-friendly restaurant - handy to know about. The wine list includes a useful flavour key, indicating style.

Seats 80; reservations accepted. Open daily, L&D Mon-Sat, 12-9pm (to 10pm Thu-Sat); Sun 1-8pm, all á la carte. House wine from about £13. Closed 25 Dec. MasterCard, Visa, Switch.
