Hastings Europa Hotel

This landmark 1970s city centre building is the largest hotel in Northern Ireland and particularly striking when illuminated at night. The location is exceptionally convenient, both to the business and commercial districts and the city's entertainment and shopping areas. It has undergone many changes since first opening in the '70s and has been renovated and refurbished to a high standard, including the addition of executive rooms, with air conditioning, ISDN lines and safe, as well as the usual facilities expected of a top hotel.

Off the impressive tall-columned entrance foyer is an all-day brasserie and the lobby bar, featuring Saturday afternoon jazz and other live musical entertainment. Upstairs on the first floor you'll find the Gallery Lounge (afternoon teas served here to the accompaniment of a pianist) and a cocktail bar with circular marble-topped counter.

But perhaps the hotel's greatest assets are the function suites, ranging from the Grand Ballroom to the twelfth floor Edinburgh Suite with its panoramic views of the city. Nearby parking (special rates apply) can be added to your account.

Staff are excellent (porters offer valet parking) and, as in all the Hastings hotels, standards of housekeeping and maintenance are high.
