Hebron House
The Boyd family's substantial redbrick house is an exceptionally convenient and appealing place to stay in Bangor, offering the space and comfort associated with the leafy suburbs and a remarkably central location that is within easy walking distance of both the town centre shops and the harbour area.
The three guest rooms include two on the first floor, with a pleasant outlook (one overlooks the marina); both have 5' beds (one with a traditional brass and iron bedstead) and comfortable seating, also power showers, bathrobes and Molton Brown toiletries.
The third room is on the ground floor and overlooks the marina; it is particularly spacious and has zip and link beds also a whirlpool bath, as well as a power shower and all the extras provided upstairs - the flexible layout will appeal especially to older guests, anyone with mobility problems and those travelling with young children.
All the comfy beds have goose down and feather anti-allergy duvets and pillows, and every room has fresh flowers, tea tray, TV/DVD, radio, magazines, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, making this a real home from home.
Guests have use of a comfortable sitting room too, and an imaginative breakfast menu is served at a communal table in the traditional dining room.
Ilona Boyd really wants her guests to make the best of their stay and provides lots of information about the area, including nearby Pickie Park (perfect for families), the North Down Heritage centre and the Folk & Transport Museum, as well as places of interest further afield.
