Joe and Fiona Aston offer an authentic experience at their beautifully located island B&B, which is open for most of the year.
Although small, it is well laid out, with a pretty sheltered garden that not only pleases the eye but also supplies organic vegetables for the table, and there’s a comfortable sitting room with lots of books and games.
There are three en suite bedrooms, all simply but comfortably furnished with good quality beds and linen, and tea and coffee making facilities. Fiona cooks dinner for guests - fresh fish, local meat, and soups and salads feature and, of course, seasonal vegetables from the kitchen garden too.
The day begins with a hearty breakfast of fresh fruit or fruit compote, home-baked bread and, again, the best of local/artisan food including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and fresh fish.
And this is a B&B with a difference, as Fiona offers various therapies to guests and Joe has a 45’ schooner, the Anna M, which he uses to take guests out on fishing/sight-seeing trips of Roaring Water Bay, mainly for dolphin and whale-watching.
Rooms 3. B&B €40pps for the first night, reduced to €38 for subsequent nights. 2 nights B&B with full day’s sailing is €300, all summer.
