Mrs Cheung's long-established city centre restaurant pre-dates the rush to the new PArnell Street 'Chinatown' by many a long year, during which time it has enjoyed enduring popularity.
Although this Dublin restaurants '80s decor has dated (some might call it retro-chic, others simply old-fashioned), staff can seem more distant than is now the style, and the atmosphere lacks the buzz of its new wave competition, many Dubliners still enjoy it for its calm atmosphere and menus that offer the choice between westernised Chinese food or a more authentic style.
And it has always had a clear vote of confidence from the local Chinese community, who flock here for the Dim Sum at lunchtime - a good selection of these delectable Cantonese specialities is available between 12 and 5.30 daily: beef tripe is very enjoyable and Fried Seafood Noodles also attract regular praise - lots of succulent prawns, scallops and squid with Pak Choi.
Crispy aromatic duck is another speciality from a wide-ranging selection of Chinese dishes.
