Konkan Indian Restaurant

Located just before the Harold’s Cross Bridge, the homely red frontage and the fairy lights in Konkan’s window convey an informal charm to passers by.

Once inside, the small welcoming dining room is modestly decorated with a plush red carpet and randomly placed pieces of Indian curios – you could be sitting in the living room of a well travelled friend.

Indian music drifts lightly across the cosy room, and even though the cream walls look like they could do with a fresh lick of paint, this all adds to the comfortable, downbeat charm of a local restaurant that radiates character and warmth by the bucket load.

The small team of staff seat diners with a smile and promptly provide an extensive menu which includes many Indian favourites such as Rogan Josh, Biriyani or Korma, as well as an attractive list of authentic regional dishes from Southern India. There is also an excellent range of vegetarian and low fat dishes.

An expert team of chefs demonstrate respect and deep understanding for a culinary tradition that produces dishes full of flavour and subtlety, taking pride in highlighting the variety and complexity that Indian cuisine has to offer.

Soft drinks and Indian Cobra beer are offered in addition to a short wine list.
