Baking/Bakery

Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

Minihans

The familiar 'free from' phrase takes on a different meaning at Annette Minihan's West Clare artisan catering company, where it means no freezing and no long refrigeration as well as no colourings and no preservatives.

Best local ingredients and traditional methods make for a home made taste - earning recognition from, for example, the Blas na hEireann (National Irish Food Awards). Freezer filling, party catering and cooking for special diets are all offered.

Baking is a speciality and you'll find these goodies in independent stores and at Kilrush, Ennis and Limerick (Bedford Street) farmers' markets.
