Mortells Delicatessen & Seafood Restaurant

On a very busy street just off O’Connell Street, Brian Mortell’s appealing deli and casual daytime restaurant/coffee shop is well worth remembering whenever you need a quick bite that’s good, freshly cooked and reasonably priced.

Open from an early hour, they offer a full breakfast menu (unusually including a seafood breakfast, which varies according to availability) and have a tempting range of fresh-baked scones, pastries, cakes and other light foods on display to go with their (very good) coffees.

A sandwich board on the street welcomes in hungry passers-by with an offer of three fresh fish of the day – all Irish caught, and cooked to order by your chosen method in view of the public.

Freshness, friendly service and an interested and eagle-eyed proprietor make this a place to return to – which many of their customers clearly do, as often as possible.
