Mountshannon Hotel

This attractive spot is one of very few south-facing waterside villages in the area - and the harbour is just a short stroll from this modest and friendly family-run hotel.

There's a welcoming fire in the bar and the many fans who were disappointed by the recent closure of Noel Lyons' restaurant in the village, will be delighted to find that he has since opened The Harbour Restaurant in the hotel. (Booking well ahead will be necessary). With the traditional Keane's pub and shop also across the road, too, it's a village worth knowing about when visiting the area
