Samantha and Sacha Farrell's bright, contemporary restaurant is next to the famous Club Bar and, with its clean lines and lightwood furniture, no-nonsense menus and quality ingredients, it has a special place in the Dalkey dining scene.
Padraig Rogers' contemporary seasonal menus have a slight bias towards fish and vegetarian food, and change throughout the day: their great weekend brunch menu, which includes traditional Irish and buttermilk pancakes and a wide range of coffees and other drinks is very popular.
For lunch there's some overlap from dishes on the Brunch menu and a dozen or so other choices, ranging up to the "Posh Nosh" daily special. In the evening, you might begin with a prawn starter (prawn pil-pils is a long-standing speciality) and proceed to beer battered cod with pea purée, home-made chips (another house speciality).
Vegetarians are well looked after with an imaginative choice of dishes such as cajun roast butternut & feta filo parcel with chunky ratatouille & crème fraiche.
This dublin restaurants desserts are home-made and there's a limited but well-chosen wine list, with a few half bottles.
A long running success story, and deservedly so.
