Radisson SAS Hotel & Spa Limerick

This low rise hotel is set well back from the road in its own grounds and, although just a short drive from the city centre, enjoys an almost rural setting and views of the Clare Mountains.

The original building dates back to the 1970s but was completely revamped recently, when taken over by Radisson SAS, and re-opened with an elegant new interior. The size and layout of the building suits the Radisson style well - public areas, notably the large open-plan foyer/lounge, have a great a great sense of space and style, with seating groups arranged around glass-topped tables on marbled floors softened by specially commissioned rugs and a few dramatic pieces of art. The bars and conference/wedding facilities were refurbished late in 2006.

Accommodation is also notable for its spaciousness: all rooms are styled deluxe, with the comfort and amenities that implies (air conditioning, TV with video, broadband/ISDN line, personal safe, bathroom with full bath and shower) but, for people who like a bit of room around them, the sense of space is the main attraction of this hotel over its city centre rivals.

The spa in the hotel has recently been re-branded as Rain Spa and Wellness Clinic, with nine treatment rooms, relaxation suite, gym, pool, and outdoor Canadian hot tub among the features. Fine conference and business facilities have ample free parking. Treatments includes facials, massage therapy, body treatments and hand & foot treatments.
