Formerly home to the Lord Mayors of Cork, this attractive hotel stands in lovely grounds and the original parts of the building feature gracious, well-proportioned public rooms. Guest rooms are furnished to a high standard with all the comforts - including air conditioning and safe in executive rooms - as well as the usual conveniences, making this popular for business guests.

Facilities include a fine leisure centre with a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and computerised gymnasium, as well as a Thalasso Therapy centre. Although they rarely get the credit for it, this was the first thalassotherapy centre in an Irish hotel and predated the current fashion for spas by many years. The hotel's conference and meeting facilities are very highly regarded.

Gallery Restaurant : The restaurant is in a pleasant position overlooking the hotel gardens; the ambience and service are both good and head chef Gerry Kirwin ensures that the food goes beyond the expectations of a hotel dining room, making dining-in a positive option for residents, especially business guests. Menus, which change monthly, are well-balanced and always include some strong vegetarian choices; prime Irish beef is a speciality, also a selection of local seafood. Long stay self-catering available. Open all year except Christmas. L&D daily 12.30-2.30 & 6.30-9.45 (Sun 5.30-8pm). Bar menu 10am-11.30pm daily. Amex, Diners, MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
