This well-signed and attractively maintained guesthouse offers excellent location and a high standard of accommodation at a reasonable price, just yards away from Trinity College.
As is the way with Georgian buildings, rooms get smaller towards the top so the most spacious accommodation is on lower floors.
The reception area is a little tight, but guest rooms have air conditioning and are stylishly furnished in keeping with the age of the building, and most have bath and shower; as it is a listed building it is not permissible to install a lift, a point worth bearing in mind if stairs could be a problem.
An extensive breakfast is served in the stylish George's Bistro (see entry), where dinner is also available - and there are numerous good restaurants nearby.
Air-conditioned rooms have a safe, direct-dial phone, tea/coffee making facilities, multi-channel TV, trouser press and iron; broadband wi/fi. No private parking (multi-storey carparks nearby).
Rooms 23 (10 family, 2 single, 1 ground floor, 16 shower only, 10 no-smoking); B&B €50-80 pps low/high season. Children welcome (under 2s free in parents' room; cots available free of charge; children aged 2-11: €15 per child / night in parents' room, over 12 years old sharing room: €60 extra per night); broadband wi/fi; no pets. Room service (limited hours). Open all year. Amex, Diners, MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
