Beautifully situated in an elevated position overlooking Lough Ree, the former Glasson Hotel & Golf Club was acquired by Paddy McKillen Jnr's Press Up group in 2019 and renamed Glasson Lakehouse.

Having been developed around the previous owners' fine old family home as a golfing destination, it had earned an international reputation as one of Ireland’s premier inland courses, but the hotel is equally geared to business guests and non golfers, and it is a lovely family- and pet-friendly place to stay.

Bright and contemporary, with a welcoming atmosphere, each addition was carefully designed to enhance the property and - following a major upgrade in 2010 - the lovely setting ensured that it also became highly desirable as a wedding venue.

The warmly furnished bar and restaurant have floor-to-ceiling glass windows to make the most of the lovely views down over the lough - and there's a cosy log stove, too, for chilly days.

Most of the spacious bedrooms have balconies to make the most of excellent views of the lough or over the golf course at the back, while the Master Suites have separate sitting rooms and, allowing for all weathers, a fire and a private terrace.

Whatever the reason for your visit, this is a lovely place to stay.
