In the premises formerly occupied by the legendary restaurant, Annies, Budds opened here in 2015 and was an instant hit with locals and visitors alike.

Local people have been delighted with the energy and commitment to quality (and community) that Jamie and Emma Budd have brought to the village, and visitors - attracted by the brightly coloured frontage and rustic seating when passing through - just love it.

With a gorgeous display of all things delicious at the counter - huge chocolate chip cookies, delectable desserts, a chill cabinet choc-a-bloc with super salads and craft beers - and shelves crammed with carefully selected speciality foods and drinks, there's an immediate connective buzz even before you've got seated or looked at a menu.

Menus change daily but there’s always a quiche, curry or stew and locally landed fish in addition to a good range of sandwiches and a West Cork cured meet and cheese board.

The evening menu offers a choice of fish – it may be hake, mussels, cod or plaice depending on the supply – and there’s Skeaghanore duck for meat eaters. And you don't need to be vegetarian to enjoy imaginative and flavourful dishes like their moussaka with aubergines, roast pepper and courgette.

Great drinks list too - interesting wines, beers (all Irish) and Fentimans soft drinks, along with Badger & Dodo gourmet coffee and high quality loose teas.

All this and friendly, engaged service too. A great place to know about.
