One of Ireland’s most famous sporting lodges, Delphi Lodge was built in the early 19th-century by the Marquis of Sligo, and is magnificently located in an unspoilt valley, surrounded by the region’s highest mountains (with the high rainfall so dear to fisherfolk).

The lodge is large and impressive in a relaxed, understated way that is definitely country house retreat rather than hotel - and an excellent tradition of houseparty style dining with kindly priced wines.

The guest rooms are all quite different, but they have lovely lake and mountain views, good bathrooms, and are very comfortably furnished.

While the main house offers a unique blend of tranquillity and conviviality, guests seeking more independence will find allure of the six cottages on the estate hard to resist.

Although most famous for salmon and trout fishing, Delphi Lodge is also perfect for groups and family get togethers or an ideal holiday hideaway for those who simply seek a quiet rural retreat - and its romantic setting makes it a lovely venue for small to medium sized off season weddings.
