Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

Founder Anne Leyden and wine expert David Lasbleye run this well known shop and café, which stocks a wide range of speciality foods from Ireland and the continent, with local artisan products taking pride of place.

The café is set up to have a bit of a French bistro atmosphere, and has a few tables outside under the awning where you can watch the world go by while enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

It’s a good place to stock up for a picnic and some products are available online; hampers are a speciality and an especially interesting one for visitors is The Clare Hamper, packed with speciality foods from around the county. Some products available online.
