Fitzroys Restaurant

Very handy for shoppers, visitors or pre- and post-theatre meals, this large modern restaurant beside the Foyle Shopping Centre is one of the city's most consistent eating places
Seats 80; reservations accepted. Open Mon-Sat 11am-10pm daily (Sun 12pm-9pm), all à la carte. House wine from about £13. Closed 25 Dec. MasterCard, Visa abbreviations

This large modern restaurant beside the Foyle Shopping Centre is on two floors and very handy for shoppers, visitors or pre and post-theatre meals.

It's a busy restaurant and the interior is revamped from time to time, but the central philosophy of providing good quality, reasonably priced food in enjoyably informal surroundings - and with quick service from the very friendly staff - remains constant.

Menus change through the day and offer a wide range of food in the current international fashion, ranging from soup of the day (a very good chowder, perhaps, full of a variety of smoked and unsmoked fish and shellfish, attractively presented with home made wheaten bread) and designer sandwiches (roast vegetables & goats cheese baguette), to house favourites like spicy chicken penne, or an 8oz sirloin steak. The wine list includes a useful flavour key, indicating style.

A conveniently located, family-friendly restaurant and handy to know about, this is one of the city's most consistent eating places and offers good value - no wonder it is also one of the most popular.
