A welcome sight in the bustling town of Gorey, this centrally located and very attractively presented daytime business is a buzzy place, popular with locals and visitors alike.

The cafe is located at the back of a speciality food shop selling carefully selected artisan foods from Ireland and beyond, and there will be plenty to tempt you on your way in and out - ingredients used in the café are on sale in the shop, which is useful for picking up a picnic.

The menu features simple, unpretentious dishes that allow the high quality of the ingredients to take pride of place - enjoy, amongst other treats, good soups served with freshly home-baked bread, unusual pasta dishes, tasty savoury tarts, flavoursome salads, an excellent farmhouse cheese and oatcake plate, and an enticing selection of home-baked cakes and tarts.

There is a coffee menu and a short  wine list. It does get busy (especially at lunchtime), but service is invariably friendly and willing.

Although not cheap, Partridges offers very good value considering the high quality of the food.

Hi to everyone in Partridges. Myself and my wife visited Partridges during a recent visit to Gorey. What a fantastic Bistro. It looked so appealing from outside on the street that we had to take a look inside..The staff were very welcoming and also very friendly. The food was fantastic.

Hi Brian, Good to hear praise for a business where the owners are working
so hard to get everything right. Interesting comment about it looking so
appealing from the outside that you had to take a look inside - plenty of
others could learn from that. (We see a lot of rusty gates, dead plants and
cobwebby doorways on our travels....) Georgina
