Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality. The "Best of the Best" - Only the very best establishments across various categories have been chosen for this accolade

New name, new location - but the same great team. Stephen McArdle and Morgan VanderKamer moved their wonderful Barrows Keep restaurant from Graiguenamanagh to Thomastown in 2019, and now they've been reinventing themselves again in Waterford since summer 2022.

Wherever they are, it’s a must-visit for any food or wine lover in the South-East.

The network of local producers that provides the foundation for Stephen’s terrific cooking remains very much in place and, as always, the talent in the (open) kitchen is complemented by Morgan’s supervision of the room and - predictably perhaps, as she is President of the Irish Guild of Sommeliers - her renowned wine list and well chosen pairings.

Working with over a dozen wine suppliers, she selects with care to encourage guests to try less familiar wines - and she still hosts her popular wine club too.

A great addition to this vibrant city.
