Carmel Gunning International Summer School Festival of Irish Music Song and Dance - Co Sligo

Monday 1st - Friday 5th August 2011

This summer school, in its 12th year, has students from all over the world attend every year. Classes are held in instruments such as tin whistle, flute, fiddle, accordion, guitar, banjo, bodhran and mixed instruments at all levels including traditional singing.

Entertainment nightly includes pub sessions, music recitals, lecture, tutors concert, traditional singers night and farewell music session.

Students will sample all the very best activities that Sligo has to offer such as guided tour walks, hill walking, visits to Sligo Abbey and Yeats Gallery and music sessions in villages bordering Sligo town.

Director of the Summer School is well known musician and music teacher Carmel Gunning, who also tutors in Limericks World Music Centre. To date she has produced many fine musicians who are top class in their field around the world. She also runs her own Music School all year round.
