Claddaghduff Pony Show - Co Galway

Sunday 24th July 2011

So much more than just another pony show, the Claddaghduff Pony Show promises you a fun-filled day packed with activities.

The Showfield in Claddaghduff village, County Galway, is in an idyllic location, overlooking the spectacular Omey Strand and Island. Over recent years, the number of entries to the show has risen steadily.

Among the highlights of the show are classes for in-hand and ridden Connemara Ponies, non-pedigree sheep, cattle and dogs, and in recent years, a foal championship was added to the list of in-hand classes. The prize money is very generous and there is a perpetual cup and replica cup to keep in each class for the proud winners.

A bouncing castle, slide and face painting will ensure that the children never have a dull moment, while at 15.00 hours, visitors will be treated to a display of sean nós dancing, after which everyone is welcome to join in and kick up their heels. They’ll even give you a medal to take home with you!
