Glen of Aherlow Walking Festival - Co Tipperary

This glorious three day annual festival offers a variety of guided walks showcasing the natural environment of mountains, lakes, rivers, forestry and sites of historical and cultural significance.

The annual walking festival will feature 10 graded walks on the Galtees and Slievenamuck hills encompassing the National Loop Walks in the Glen of Aherlow. Saturday and Sunday offer 4 graded, guided walks ranging from the very experienced hill walker with challenging peak walks on the Galtees to the more low level walks on the Loops across Slievenamuck.

Monday is the Mecca for walkers wishing to learn or optimise their GPS skills with Mike Moroney. The June Bank Holiday weekend festival promises a fabulous well planned walking festival for you, the visitor, to experience the beauty of wild nature, pure air and clear your head of worries.

Local accommodation providers, who are part of the Walkers Welcome Initiative, are offering a superb weekend attractive deal for the festival. Entertainment and music sessions over the weekend. The base for all walks is Moroney's Bar in Lisvarrinane.
