The Irish Open - Co Kerry

The Irish Open is the biggest domestic golf tournament in Ireland, attracting spectators from across the country and some of the biggest names in golf.

Part of the European Tour, the Irish Open takes place over four days. The 2011 Irish Open is scheduled for 28 to 31 July, 2011. The 2010 event took place over the August bank holiday weekend between 29 July and 1 August at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club in County Kerry.

This highly successful event attracted over 81,000 spectators through the gate as well as thousands more to the festivities taking place in the area at the time. Coinciding with the Killarney-based 3 Irish Open in 2010, the Killarney Summerfest, also supported by Fáilte Ireland, took place from 24 July to the final day of the competition.
